Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek
Langtang Gosainkunda Trekking is another popular trekking route in Langtang region. In this trekking you will get an opportunity to visit Langtang valley as well as Gosainkunda. Langtang valley is famous as the valley of glaciers. Here you will get close up view of mountains named Langtang Lirung (7246 m), visit glaciers, walking on grassy down and meadows. Gosainkunda is one of the holy mountain lakes at an altitude of 4380 meter from sea level. Both Hindus and Buddhists pilgrims gather around this area every year especially on full moon day of August. They believe that if they take bath from the water of this lake they will be saved from their all sins done during that year. Both Hindus as well as Buddhists once in a life visit this lake. It takes about 45 minutes to circumambulate this lake. For this trekking you take morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (Around 8 hours). At first you follow the route to Langtang valley and Kyanjin Gompa. After Kyanjin Gompa you take half of the previous route then you divert to the way to Gosainkunda Lake. After visiting Gosainkunda lake you back to Dhunche, the bus station and return to Kathmandu. Day 01 : Arrive in kathmandu (1400 M)
Arrive in Kathmandu airport and we will meet and transferred to hotel. Evening time explore Thamel yourself and overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley City Tour
Take a morning tour of Kathmandu city after breakfast, and see all the main sights of the Kathmandu Valley, including the Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Durbar Square. and discuss about the trekking for any final checks of your trekking equipment and clothing (sleeping bags, jacket, boots etc.).
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi (1462m.)
Take an early morning breakfast and drive to Syabru Besi by Vehicle via Trisuli Bazar and Dhunche. You will witness nice scenery of White Mountains of Mt. Annapurna II, Manasalu, Ganesh Himal and other minor peaks are visible from Kakani (along the route) and as well as green scenery of hillock, rivers, village, while driving to Syapru Besi.
Day 04: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2510m.)
We following the Langtang River. After crossing the suspension bridge, the trails ascent ridge to Paira Lodge and after, the trails, gradually ascent. This day, you might be feel wilderness and might get opportunity to see wild animals like monkeys, red Pandas, Himalayan Black Bears etc.
Day 05: Trek to langtang Valley (3307m.)
From Lama Hotel, the trail gradually climbs up to Ghora Tabela through a forest of hemlock, oaks, maples and rhododendron with spectacular, fleeting glimpses of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7,244m). Leaving Ghora Tabela, the path follows the delightful Langtang Khola, climbing steadily up to the spread-out Langtang Valley (3,500m). Langtang Valley is another Tamang village with stone-and-wood houses and yak grazing pastures.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3798m.)
After Langtang Valley Trek, you are now above the tree line and the landscape is typically high Himalayan with short grass, juniper bushes and scrub. The trail climbs gradually. Crossing the Laja Khola then climbs a moraine to a viewpoint where you can see Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung and the trail descends to Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa to Chorkari Ri
Early morning, our day begins with a steep climb to the top of Chorkari Ri. Enjoying spectacular panoramic mountain views of the whole Langtang Himalayas, including Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Langshisa Ri (6,810 m.), Gyanghempo (6,888 m.) Ganjala peak, Nayakang more….Besides, incredible mountain views, Langtang valley, icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung and Gyanghempo peak. back to Langtang Valley.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel
Easily trek down to Lama Hotel enjoying the view and the localities
Day 09 : Trek to (Thulo) Syabru ( 2300m)
Day 10: Trek to Sing Gompa Chandan Bari (3254 m)
This day we through forest of Fir and Rhododendron. The only sign of human habitation are the occasional shepherds' huts at the water points. We camp near the deserted Sing Gompa.
Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda Lake. (4300 m)
The trail to Lauri Binayak is steep & continues for three hours. Then the trail becomes much narrow & misty as well as change in vegetation too as the green vegetation becomes much deserted & rocky. From lauri Binayak takes about 3 hours to reach to Gosainkunda.
Day 12 : Rest day and explore around the Lake
Day 13: Gosainkunda to Sing Gompa(3254m.)
We trek from Gosainkunda to Sing Gompa . Our trail descends all the way to Sing Gompa passing Lauribanayak. We would have magnificent mountain views along the trail. We would walk through the jungles while going to Sing Gompa.
Day 14: Sing Gompa to Dhunche (1950m.)
Today we trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche . The first part of the trail descends through pine, silver oak and rhododendron forests with marijuana plants up to suspension bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream. From this point, our path goes even through some human settlements and reaches Dhunche, the headquarters of Rasuwa district.
Day 15: Dhunche to Kathmandu
We drive back to Kathmandu from Dhunche. It is interesting to penetrate into the rural settlements on the way back to Kathmandu.
Day 16: Fly back to Home
